π Short introduction to Citiwatts platform
The citiwatts GUI is a GIS-based interface. By closing the disclaimer page, the user sees the map of Europe. Once the disclaimer page is closed, a window prompting to accept cookies is displayed. The cookies are only statistical and do not contain any personal information on the user.

Here you can spot at first glance 3 parts of the user interface:
- A toolbar on the top of the page
- The interactive map itself
- Top right: A radio button for changing the style of the map and radio buttons to change the area of selection of the map
Please note that from release 3.0 and onwards, the radio buttons in the top right and parts of the tools previously accessible in the bar on the left side are now integrated into a toolbar on the top of the interactive map. The functionalities have not changed in this transition.

With this toolbar, you can:
- Connect: Register and log into the toolbox by clicking the user icon.
- Go To Place: Zoom in to a specific region by typing its name and pressing enter.
- Feedback: Provide feedback regarding the tool.
- Disclaimer: Go back to the disclaimer page by clicking on the logo.

The citiwatts toolbox is a living platform: As the research project as well as its sister and follow-up projects evolve, (new) functionalities are refined and bugs are addressed and solved. The toolbox is hosted in two environments: the development server and the production server. The development server has the most up-to-date version, with most of issues and bugs solved, but it might be unstable as developers keep working on it daily. The production server instead is a stable environment.
